
Lower Hewood Farm is a 45 acre small-holding in the hamlet of Hewood on the borders of Dorset, Devon and Somerset. The land lies next to the Forde Abbey estate, 20 minutes from the Jurassic coast and features traditionally laid hedgerows, species rich meadows, an SNCI with flag irises and views towards the Blackdown Hills. Travel
Arriving by car
The address is Lower Hewood Farm, Hewood, Chard TA20 4NR. If using GPS, search for ‘Hewood’ as the postcode or ‘Lower Hewood Farm’ may not bring you to exactly the right place.
At the red Hewood sign (on the lane between Thorncombe and Holditch) turn down the hill and take the first track on your right at the end of a long low shed with a corrugated iron roof. Instructions for parking will be provided at this point.
Arriving by train
Direct trains run from London Waterloo or Exeter St Davids to Axminster or Crewkerne , which are a 15 or 20 minute ride away from the farm, respectively.
A taxi ride from the station will cost between £15 and £25.
Most mobile phone users have reasonable access to 3G at the farm.

The site is situated around a sloped gravel yard with steps leading up to the indoor spaces so wheelchair access is limited. We have a ramp available for access to the largest viewing space (Main Barn on map). For more information please contact alexa@lowerhewoodfarm.org
Food – Lunch and Supper
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available all day for a nominal fee. Please feel free to bring your own packed lunch with you. Bread, cheese, homemade pickles, humus, salad and soft drinks will be available at lunchtime for £5 a head. Supper tickets are for sale on the ticket page. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available. Please email harvest@lowerhewoodfarm.org with any dietary requirements.
